Poetry Contest
Rules:
- Poems must be an original work by the student submitting the piece.
- Poem can be an inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance.
- Submission must be in good taste and contain no objectionable or inappropriate content. Students must abide by all rules outlines in the District 7 Code of Conduct. (For example – no profanity, violence, weapons)
- Only poems created during the contest dates will be accepted. The contest begins January 30 and ends on February 20.
- Submit your poetry to this link with the following information:
- Name
- Grade
- SOAR teacher
- Email address
- Subject matter of poem
- Poems should be submitted by clicking here.
- No submissions will be accepted after the deadline
- Your submission must be in MS Word, Pages, or PDF format.
Judging Will Be Based On:
- Originality
- Creativity and artistic merit
- Quality
Awards:
First Place - $30 prize
Second Place - $20 prize
Third Place - $10 prize
